Job Description

YTC is seeking a Regional Sales Representative (“RSR”) for its Northern sales territory.  The Northern sales territory is comprised primarily of North Carolina & Virginia, but might also consist of limited customers in South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Maryland and West Virginia.

 

Job Responsibilities & Duties 

The RSR will be responsible for the following job functions:

  • Report to the Vice President of Sales
  • Maintain, service and develop relationships with significant existing customer base
  • Identify and develop new customers
  • Sales efforts through in-person calls, email, phone, and social media (as appropriate)
  • Learning about YTC equipment (trucks, trailers, etc.) as well services that we can provide
  • Following up on leads generated by YTC operations and other YTC sales personnel
  • Help YTC operations and accounting with new customer qualification
  • Help YTC operations and management with customer pricing
  • Responsible for the handling of any customer issues or complaints
  • Responsible for communicating customer issues/concerns to YTC operations and management
  • Handling some onsite project coordination with customers as well as working with our special project department as necessary
  • Communication with YTC operations and management on territory trends and news
  • Responsible for developing personal knowledge about the trucking industry as well as overall construction industry
  • Responsible for producing and presenting sales proposals when necessary with customers as well as YTC departments
  • Weekly call reports and weekly expense reports required
  • 10-12 nights per month of away-from-home travel
  • Day trips and working from home (or YTC office if in proximity) during non-travel time
  • Normal week is 1-2 days per week at home office and 2-4 days in the field

 

Job Requirements & Optional Qualifications 

  • College degree required
  • Excel, Word & Outlook proficiency
  • 2-3 years of B2B sales experience required
  • Construction/transportation sales experience preferred
  • Experience in cold calling and developing leads required
  • Strong ability to work independently and self-sufficiently, but also work collaboratively and cooperatively with a sales and operations team
  • Must pass background check and drug screen
  • Valid driver’s license

 

Job Compensation & Benefits 

  • Salary – $55,000 – $65,000 (negotiable) plus commission for first year; likely converting to straight commission from year two onward.
  • End of year incentive bonus based on exceeding revenue goals for territory
  • Car allowance ($500 per month) and company gas card

  • Employer-paid health insurance for employee (employer pays approximately 90% of employee-only health insurance premiums and 60% – 80% of dependent premiums, depending on the coverage selected)
